Backpack Adds 14 Stocks and ETFs as Collateral Assets

This is a product announcement. Products and services may not be available in all regions.

Backpack is expanding Equity Collateral. All stocks and ETFs with corresponding perp markets can now be used as collateral within Backpack's unified, cross-asset portfolio margin.

This brings the total number of supported collateral assets to 17.

  • Real equities as collateral: Use your stock and ETF holdings as collateral across Backpack's unified portfolio margin.
  • One portfolio, more possibilities: Borrow USD, trade futures, or trade spot on margin without selling your positions.

Supported Collateral Assets

Newly added

SPY, QQQ, NVDA, AAPL, HOOD, CRCL, TSLA, DRAM, GOOGL, META, INTC, AMZN, AMD, SKHY

Already available

MU, SNDK, SPCX

How Equity Collateral Works

Stocks held on Backpack are real US equities, with each holding representing a security entitlement to the underlying shares. Equity Collateral brings these holdings into the same portfolio margin system used across other supported assets and instruments on Backpack.

Users can:

  • Trade perpetual futures using eligible stock and ETF holdings as collateral
  • Borrow USD against their stock and ETF holdings
  • Trade spot on margin against their stock and ETF holdings

Important Notes

  • Users are encouraged to monitor their margin levels regularly and apply appropriate risk management when using stocks and ETFs as collateral.
  • Product and service availability may vary by region and supported market.
