Backpack IPO: Token Holders Get Early Access Before Shares Hit the Market
We're introducing a new token utility, and it changes everything about how long-term Backpack users can participate in our growth.
When Backpack IPOs, long-term users will receive priority allocation of Backpack shares at the IPO price, before shares begin trading on public stock exchanges. No conversion required. You keep your token. You get the equity. Both.
A different kind of exchange token
Most exchange tokens follow a familiar playbook. Fee discounts. Tiered VIP levels. Maybe some yield if you lock up enough. The value is real, but it's transactional. You're a user, not an owner.
Backpack was built on a different idea. From the beginning, we've believed that the people who use a platform every day, who stake, trade, and grow with it, deserve more than discounts. They deserve a stake in what's being built.
That's why 25% of the total token supply is allocated to users and holders. That's why we introduced equity conversion, giving token holders the option to convert into Backpack equity at a fixed ratio. And that's why tonight, we're taking it one step further.
How the IPO allocation works
Priority IPO allocation is earned, not bought. When Backpack goes public, long-term users will receive priority access to Backpack shares at the IPO price, before shares begin trading on public stock exchanges.
Your allocation is determined by three factors:
- How long you've staked (time-weighted)
- How much you've staked
- How actively you've used Backpack products
The longer you stay, the more you use, the more you earn.
You don't have to choose
This isn't a conversion. This is an addition.
Long-term users can hold their Backpack token and access IPO share allocation at the IPO price at the same time. Token upside. Equity upside. Both, without having to choose one over the other.
The token remains a core ecosystem asset post-IPO. It's not a placeholder. It's not a bridge to something else. It's a standalone asset with its own utility, and now with a direct path to equity participation for those who've been here from the start.
Why we're doing this
We're building toward a regulated, public company. That path includes expanding into traditional capital markets and building products that connect crypto and traditional finance in ways that actually work.
The IPO allocation program is a natural extension of that vision. When Backpack goes public, the people who believed in this early, who staked, who used the products, who stayed, should be the first ones through the door.
That's what we mean when we say: users are owners.
What's coming next
This is one piece of a larger picture. More token utility announcements are coming soon.
Stay tuned.
