Backpack Now Supports Monad Wallet, Full Ecosystem Integration

Backpack Exchange introduces full support for the Monad blockchain, with testnet access already live and complete readiness for the upcoming Monad mainnet and Token Generation Event (TGE) on 24 November 2025. This integration makes Backpack the most complete Monad-native platform, combining a secure wallet with direct exchange access so users can hold, trade, and bridge MON and other assets across the Monad ecosystem using a single account.

Introduction

GM Backpackers,

Backpack now connects directly to Monad, the high‑throughput chain capable of processing up to 10 000 transactions per second with 0.4 second block times and sub‑second finality. This release gives users unified access to wallet and exchange functionality on Monad. You can hold MON in Backpack Wallet, swap testnet tokens, view trending assets and explore early dApps before mainnet. As soon as the main network goes live on 24 November, you will have full mainnet support through the same interface.

Integration Details

  • Testnet to Mainnet Continuity: Backpack begins with the Monad Public Testnet and keeps it live even after mainnet launch. Users can experiment with test assets, interact with dApps and provide feedback. This testnet is open to all and acts as a sandbox while features evolve toward mainnet.
  • Day 1 Mainnet Support: When the Monad mainnet launches on 24 November 2025, Backpack will offer native wallet compatibility from the start. Switching between testnet and mainnet requires only one tap.
  • Wallet + Exchange Connectivity: Users can deposit USDC or USDT to Backpack Wallet, then transfer funds to Backpack Exchange with zero conversion fees. This direct stablecoin bridge provides a fast on‑ramp and off‑ramp for the Monad ecosystem and supports compliant fiat transfers.
  • Unified Portfolio Management: Backpack lets you manage MON and other Monad‑based assets in one account. Real‑time portfolio updates match the network’s rapid block times, and swaps execute at network speed.
  • Integrated Trading: Backpack Exchange provides deep liquidity for MON pairs and allows users to trade instantly without leaving the wallet. Pre‑launch and launchpad tokens will also be available within this unified interface.
  • Native Staking and Bridging: The platform will support zero‑fee native staking for MON and zero‑fee bridging of supported assets, keeping more value in users’ hands.

Token Information

  • Token symbol: MON
  • Total initial supply: 100 billion MON
  • Public sale: Up to 7.5 billion MON (7.5 %) available via Coinbase’s token sale; unsold tokens move to ecosystem funds
  • Airdrop: About 3.3 billion MON (3.3 %) claimed by eligible wallets
  • Ecosystem: Around 38.5 billion MON (38.5 %) allocated for grants and incentives
  • Team: Approximately 27 billion MON (27 %) reserved for team members, locked for one year
  • Investors: Nearly 19.7 billion MON (19.7 %) allocated to investors with a four‑year vesting schedule
  • Treasury: 3.95 billion MON (3.95 %) set aside for future compensation
  • Unlocked vs Locked: At launch, about 49.4 billion MON (49.4 %) will be unlocked; the remaining 50.6 billion MON (50.6 %) will stay locked to prevent centralization and unlock gradually by Q4 2029.
  • Utility: MON is used to pay transaction fees and for staking to secure the network.

Why Use Backpack for Monad

Cross‑Chain Deposits: Users can deposit MON and other tokens from the Monad Testnet and, upon mainnet launch, from supported networks directly into Backpack Wallet. Stablecoin deposits (USDC and USDT) automatically convert to USD at a 1:1 rate, then can be wired to a user’s bank account without hidden fees or slippage.

Spot and Futures Trading: Traders can access MON/USDC pairs on Backpack Exchange and benefit from deep liquidity and competitive trading fees. Futures contracts will be added as liquidity grows.

Unified Reward Programs: Participants who trade MON on Backpack may be eligible for future reward campaigns tied to trading volume or staking participation.
