SpaceX lists on Nasdaq on June 12, 2026, trading under the ticker SPCX. After more than two decades as a private company, it's set to be the largest IPO in market history.
There are two ways to buy SpaceX stock, and which one is right for you depends on how you want to hold it.
What is SPCX?
SPCX is the Nasdaq ticker for Space Exploration Technologies Corp., the parent company of Starlink and the Falcon rocket program. SpaceX filed its S-1 with the SEC on May 20, 2026, and set a fixed IPO price of $135 per share in an amendment filed on June 3, 2026.
Buy SpaceX Stock on Backpack Securities
Backpack Securities lets you buy SpaceX stock as a real U.S. security, settled in USD, from the same account you use for crypto. There is no separate brokerage login, no order book, and no commission.
Before you start
You need a verified Backpack account and must be located in a supported region. Backpack Securities is not available to users in the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, or Japan, and is not offered on Backpack EU.
Step 1: Fund your account
Stock purchases are funded from your available USD balance. You can deposit USD via USDC across supported networks, or via USD wire transfer from your bank account.
Step 2: Find SpaceX
Go to the Stocks home page and search for SPCX. You can search directly by typing SPCX or "SpaceX" in the search bar, or browse through the index cards, movers lists, and Explore tab to find it. Select the ticker to open the detail page.

Step 3: Enter your quantity
Select Buy, then enter the number of shares you want to purchase. During regular market hours (9:30 AM to 4:00 PM ET, Monday to Friday), fractional shares are available down to 0.01 of a share. Outside regular hours, orders must be in whole shares.
Step 4: Enable Trading (first trade only)
Before placing your first stock order, you will need to accept a one-time user agreement. Select Enable Trading, review the agreement, check the confirmation box, and select Acknowledge. This step only appears once. After completing it, future orders go directly to Preview.

Step 5: Review the quote
Select Preview to request a live quote. Backpack returns an estimated price, subtotal, and total for your review. Quotes are valid for a few seconds and refresh automatically if they expire while you are reviewing.

Step 6: Confirm
Select Confirm to place the order. When the trade fills, SpaceX shares appear as an SPCX balance in your Backpack portfolio alongside your other assets.

Buy Tokenized $SPCX on Solana
Backpack Securities, in partnership with Sunrise, issues tokenized $SPCX on Solana. Each token is redeemable 1:1 for the real underlying security through Backpack Securities, with 24/7 trading, self-custody in any compatible Solana wallet, and DeFi compatibility across Solana.
What makes it different
Most tokenized stocks on the market stop at tracking the price. Tokenized $SPCX goes further: each token is redeemable 1:1 for the real underlying SpaceX share through your Backpack Securities account. Unlike typical tokenized stocks, where redemption is often not available and settlement is in cash only, tokenized $SPCX has a direct path back to traditional brokerage infrastructure.
Key features
- 24/7 trading on Solana
- Self-custody in any compatible Solana wallet including Backpack Wallet
- Wallet-to-wallet transfers
- DeFi compatible across Solana protocols
- Dividends automatically reinvested into additional tokenized shares
- Corporate actions reflected through proportional token balance adjustments
Conversion Flow
On/off-ramp securities between traditional brokerage infrastructure and Solana through Backpack Exchange deposits and withdrawals.
Brokerage transfers are also supported through ACATS- and DTCC-compatible infrastructure.
How Dividends and Corporate Actions Work
Both ownership forms support dividends and corporate actions, but they're handled differently.
For SPCX held through Backpack Securities, cash dividends are processed through traditional brokerage infrastructure, with applicable tax treaty withholding benefits where available.
For tokenized $SPCX, dividends are automatically reinvested into additional tokenized shares. Corporate actions are reflected through proportional balance adjustments designed to maintain economic equivalence with the underlying security.
