There are two ways to hold SpaceX shares on Backpack: as traditional securities through Backpack Securities, or as tokenized securities issued by Backpack on Solana.
Backpack Securities combines real securities ownership with onchain distribution. Investors can hold eligible securities through established brokerage infrastructure, convert them into tokenized securities on Solana, and redeem tokenized securities back into the corresponding security entitlement through Backpack Securities.
Two Ways to Hold SPCX
- Traditional Securities on Backpack
Traditional securities on Backpack are real security entitlements governed under New York law (UCC Article 8), supported by established brokerage, clearing, custody, and transfer infrastructure.
These holdings include real ownership rights, including cash dividends, corporate actions, brokerage transfers, and applicable tax treaty benefits.
Traditional securities on Backpack are held in a Backpack Securities account.
- Tokenized Securities Issued by Backpack
Tokenized securities issued by Backpack are self-custodied tokenized securities on Solana with 24/7 trading, wallet-to-wallet transfers, and DeFi compatibility.
Tokenized securities can be held in Backpack Wallet or another Solana wallet, and redeemed into the corresponding security entitlement through Backpack Securities.
Moving Between Traditional Securities and Tokenized Securities

Traditional securities and tokenized securities are connected through Backpack Securities deposits and withdrawals.
On/off-ramp securities between traditional brokerage infrastructure and Solana through Backpack Exchange deposits and withdrawals.
Brokerage transfers are also supported through ACATS- and DTCC-compatible infrastructure.
Tokenized $SPCX Issued by Backpack Securities
Tokenized $SPCX issued by Backpack Securities is redeemable for a real SpaceX share through Backpack Securities.
Typical tokenized stocks are usually contractual claims that track the price. Redemption is often not available, settlement may be in cash only, and fees may apply.
Tokenized $SPCX issued by Backpack Securities works across Solana wallets and DeFi, with 24/7 trading on Solana.
